It should be an eye for an eye in cases like this.

You WILL find it is there now, and spreading.

If the President of Pakistan can sign a decree allowing it then there is substance and fact to my statement.

So my excitable internet acquaintance, the kitchen door is to your right and humble pie is on the menu. I think you may have a few guests as well.

Well I don't have access to the article, so can you kindly copy and paste what is making you so excited.

Anyway you shouldn't be too excited, if you are basing your argument on "If".

IMO a much more pertinent requirement is a justice system that enables people to be prosecuted and, if guilty, sentenced, even if they are prosperous and have powerful friends, and even if the victim is a woman.

I don't know if Pakistan has this.

Your really struggling with the English language, "IF" was used as an example. #Not a possibility.

Pakistan approves shariah law in Swat valley

By Farhan Bokhari in Islamabad

Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has signed a law introducing Islamic ‘shariah’ law in the picturesque Swat valley in northwestern Pakistan in an attempt to end Taliban violence, but critics warn that it could encourage Taliban influence to spread further in the fragile country.

Actually I apologise, the link is only active to registered used of the Financial Times.

And at no time has this "excited" me. It was just a piece of information I had made you aware of that you disputed. So I willingly obliged with a link, and now a direct quote from the news article of a paper not famed for telling too many pork pies. You could of course call this number 020 7664 9274 the Pakistani High Commission in London and have them confirm the above.

Why have you become so excited?

Regardless of Sharia Law being in place in a certain troubled part of the country. Your comment "Sharia law Where are you now." Was a cheap shot. Unless you are sure the case in question was dealt with full compliance of the Sharia Law.

Nice eloquently put worming there.
The FACT is sharia in the law IS in the country and sanctioned by its governing body.

Or can you prove this and give a link as we have PROVING the fact?

"The Pakistani government introduced new laws last year criminalising acid attacks and stating that convicted attacks would serve at least 14 years in jail."

This is just one district and only to stop fighting in the area...

"Pakistan has signed a peace deal with a Taleban group that will lead to the enforcement of the Islamic Sharia law in the restive Swat valley."

so where is the spread?

Keep back peddling, but watch out for pedestrians.

From "prove it" you have gone to "regardless".

My comment was and is valid.

Or are you going to pull the "racialist" thing on here now ?

You asked a question about a statement and were given irrefutable proof of its validity. What is the issue now exactly?

You seriously believe your comment was valid?

You asked, Sharia law Where are you now. ?

Answer: In another city, Maybe.

You must be in a habit of speaking first and finding proof after.

At the time of the attack Sharia law was not legally sanctioned in any area of Pakistan ;)

So you are correct either way :)

I'm sure you're not that ignorant to think that Pakistan is governed by Sharia Law?
Officially or unofficially?

Or are you saying Pakistan is the absolute paragon of a peaceful democratic society?

peaceful or not, is not the question here. lets not turn my comment into something it was not.

I responded to a cheap shot at Sharia Law, where the country in question is not governed by it.
Conveniently missing the point.
Officially or unofficially!!

'Some Asians' ? ......'These people' .....? Like Huntley,Sutcliffe,Hindley,Brady, Bell,The Wests, Venables, Thompson ? The list goes on.... If your logic is followed through where does that leave us? Some White English people treat children like animals? Sadly no one culture or country has a monopoly on evil. Let's not use individual cases to feed a prejudice against a whole section of people, that way lies madness
Sorry, that doesn't wash. It is normal in certain asian cultures to treat women almost as property, it is this attitude which leads to repression of women, "honour killings", and this kind of abuse. Dismissing wide held beliefs and practises as criminal behaviour is hiding your head in the sand.

My point is simply that extrapolating an individual case to cover an entire section of people seems to be selective.

Logic dictates that you use this argument for every case (such as those I gave) , or not at all.

If this were an isolated case you would have a point. Seems all too common, as in part of the culture.
