I agree but how long can one continue like that? Believing in the institution but not the people in it implies that you expect better people to come along eventually. I believe in there being a Police Force but don't like the characters in the present one. I believe in there being a Border Force, just not the current one. I believe in there being a conservative political party, but the current lot bearing that name are not conservative.

Our institutions are being hollowed and squeezed out of existence by destructive forces. Who will fight back? Who are the people that will re-establish our great country?

I'm not really waiting for something better to come along, it's just that I'm not interested in the general pap that surrounds individual members of the royal family. Sort of stuff that keeps Hello magazine going and people standing by the side of the road waving a flag.

As for this country, I gave up on that long ago. It's just a place where I happen to live for now. I'm very proud of this country's history and achievements and those who fought against tyrany, but it is a spent force and sinking under the weight of complacency and corrupt politicians who are selling us down the river at every turn. Standing up for what's left of it and imagining we can turn the tide is delusion of the highest order. I've poss only got 20 or 30 good years left. Those will be spent somewhere else, sipping a cool one in the sun. Anything worth having on this rain soaked little island is rapidly vanishing if not already gone.
