judges

Forgive me if I change the sequence, but it will make more sense this way...

Lighten up man! I never had a go at you I thought we found our common ground? ;) I am only commenting as to why I think the site has gone quiet.
Fair comment. Respect.

you should use one of these icon_question.gif when asking a question.
I should, and I do. But mine was a statement, not a question, and this ":!:" was to draw attention to it. My point here was that intolerance is in the eye of the beholder - I suspect that you regard b-a-s as intolerant, whereas his agression towards racist bigots was (and is) merely a reaction to their intolerance of convicted murderers (etc.).

Whilst I have your interest tell me when the electorate last sacked an incompetant judge?
I don't know if an incompetent judge has ever been sacked - I don't know this because I don't know everything. My point was all about my observation that the people who whinge the most actually put very little effort into productive complaints that lead to change. Sure, we can all believe that pontificating on a forum will lead to change because some readers are influenced, but what about talking/writing to the people who can change the law, e.g. partisan MPs?

Can't really be bothered with an English lesson, but a question mark should surely belong within the exclamation marks?

But eh up lets not get petty ;) .

I didn't mention BAS in particular, I mentioned 3 different members, I also never mentioned any particular views which these people may hold. I am only replying to a poster who commented that the site is becomming a tad dull. You have jumped to conclusions and brought other issues, such as race and murder into the fore.

I know you don't know everything, but, given that you said the electorate decides, have you ever actually heard of a judge being sacked my parliament or even being sacked at all?

Without falling out, I think the point is the public see some judges decisions as a bit suspect. I do accept though that they are probably being told(behind the scenes) to reduce custodial sentences, no doubt to conceal shortfalls in funding.

No - I didn't ask you a question, I just stated that "I wonder...". It would have been incorrect grammar to use a question mark there.

Ooh lets do

Of which BAS was one, so I don't know how you can think that you didn't mention him in particular - you mentioned all three in particular.

That's right, you didn't - I did.

I didn't jump to any conclusions, hence the word "suspect" in the following:

And wrt to mentioning race and murder, why should I not bring it into the fore, since it features prominently in the postings of two out of the three members that you listed :?: . How can a debate move on without bringing new points into it :?: .

In the time between writing that and now, I haven't been told, or otherwise learnt, that an incompetent judge has been sacked.

I have no idea whether or not you're right on either of these (above) points. I'm sure we can debate, and even disagree, without falling out, but to comment on things I don't about would be utter speculation on my part, which I generally avoid, so I'll trust that you're right.
