Just drilled into a water pipe into the boiler. What to do next!

Turn the heating back on, wont make any difference, you can safely use the heating with the water turned off

For future reference as a temporary repair you may get away with a piece of rubber sheet cut to fit the pipe with a jubilee clip to hold it in place and fastened directly over the hole.

That sounds like a permanent repair to me.

So the insurance "emergency repair" consisted of a kid coming over and fixing the pipe..
Well done..
But, he didn't realise that the connector was so thick that the floorboard no longer fitted flat
And then he buggered off..!
Not so well done!
But hey even after complaining the result was.. "you no longer have a leak, your problem now!"

So we are going to DIY
TBH looks easy actually.

Just want to check, these are the correct bits we need?

Equal push fit coupler

yes but it is important that you get the inserts that match the fittings you buy, dont mix them
