Nothing to do with the house builders not paying, and training.

Masters of their own problem.

Nothing wrong with Government driving up housebuilding. And increasing trades people, by various means.
 
Only totally desperate trades people would work for the big companies that build rabbit hitches

The sensible avoid them like the plague

The big builders produce crap homes and squeeze the balls of sub contractors.

The Government hasn't a clue to what's going on or how to fix it.
Just going to chuck below skilled numbers at the problem.

I am not a tradesman. But I got the impression, from the news etc. that when we were in the EU we were flooded with good tradesman from Poland etc.? Obviously, I have no inside knowledge.

Some where good some where bad some were not even tradesmen.

What you did have was pairs. The non English speaking plumber would have an unskilled co mate who's English was passable to brilliant.

Same for all the other nationalities and still to this day.


Let's bear in mind politicians and those in media wouldn't know a cabbage from a spanner.
 
to be fair over the last 3 or 4 years the bandwidth has 90% gone on the tory party fiasco where the new candidate for leader off the partys mission statements are dictated by the extremes off the tory party members off average age greater than 60 where immigration and tax cuts are the main aim
this is completely skewing compared to the world most live in
at least now we can focus on real life where the lack off apprenticeships get the gravitas it deserves rather than the pathetic attention to the extremes based on immigration and tax cuts to the great harm off society as a whole

Chucking number on the front line will only result in more dead bodies.

Like the NHS, chucking unskilled numbers at the building industry may meet the figures it may build more inadequate housing.
Ultimately it kills people.

What we need are good educated building control officers that know a cabbage is a vegetable and a brown envelope isn't a reward for doing your job well.
