LED driver question

The long LED strips are generally voltage driven - 12V ones have 3 chips and a resistor in series per section. Apply a fixed voltage (nominally 12V) and the resistor sets the current through each section - the total current taken depends on the length of the strip.

Really? Can you give more details please

If you Google image or shopping search for "LED power supply" and look for things that have a similar rectangular enclosure to the one you're considering, you'll see that most of then have a mains lead that is a two-core sheathed cable. Or they'll have internal terminals and a cable clamp, to which you can fit such a cable.

; these LED strips need to be soldered on to the drivers as well so would need to be something that allows me to do that

Shouldn't be a problem.
