Let's NOT give £350m extra each week to the NHS! A better idea....

need an ambulance because they've gotten a bit p1ssed up.

You cannot be serious.

You would have to more than a bit ****ed to need hospitalisation.

Which goes back to what I was saying about drawing on the NHS because you are too infantile to know when you have had enough to drink.

There are people that get seriously ill on nights out, overdosing (primarily) from mixing substances like E and booze. Some of these people could die if they don't get help, likewise alchol poisioning is a possibility.. you suggesting these people just die in the street for being irresponsible ? I don't think irresponsiblity should be punished with death, not when the persons paid for a service.

Nobody should die... but just to play devil's advocate, how come there are so many people out there who ignore the fact that drugs do shiit to a body? When do we start taking a more responsible attitude to ourselves?! Can have a darn fine night out without drugs and drinking so much that medical help is needed...
And what about fighting? I live near 3 pubs and seems that today's choice of a fun evening out is to drink silly amounts then fight. We see the flashing blues of police and ambulance lights here about 40 times a year, mainly in the warmer months. Apparently each ambulance call costs £247, and my street is just one street in the UK and that's repeated up and down the country.

Then there is the puke, the broken glass, the littering, the urinating against people's front doors (!), damage to people's properties and cars... we've had a car written off by a drunk driver, one of four he managed to trash in less than 5 mins. All of these things cost to clear up or fix.

I used to drink a lot as a youngster, never had a fight, never needed to go to hospital, nor my friends or anyone in the pubs or nightclubs we went to. So what's changing? There seems to be a sense of entitlement that folk seem to have now to do whatever the hell they like, not caring how it affects others.

Yes, we pay national insurance & tax but the pot to pay for all of these services is not limitless. We as a nation need to stop a lot of this drinking culture, as well as take responsibility for ourselves. Nobody should die for being an idiot, of course not, but we should stop being such an idiot in the first place surely?

I think that drug/alchol related deaths from a night out are a misnormer quite frankly. Statistically you are more likely to die under anesthetic for a routine operation than from alchol poisioning, for example. The reason why binge drinking has come under scrutiny is because there has been an attack on the British culture from the left for many decades. The government wants pubs, bars and nightlife shut down, not just because it is a cost to manage but also because it is elemental to our culture. There is a big drinking culture in Russia and look how strongly tied they are to their nationality.

It does cost more to police nightlife and provide emergency medical attention to those that end up with the short end of the stick but again these are tax payers. When do we take a more responsible attitude for ourselves? When we choose to. Some people never mature, that is life. The only reason this has now come under scrutiny is because the government cannot finanically support it having flooded the country with so many migrants over the past years in order to serve the needs and wishes of business owners who want to make as much money as possible and pay as little as possible in wages. We now have millions of migrants and migrant children born to them placing untenable burden on our health service. 'They' will convince you it's you or your mates fault for having one too many, it is their fault for betraying their nation and serving their own interests. Why do you think channel 5, channel 4 and ITV are flooded with programmes like 'Can't Pay We'll Take It Away', 'Police Camera Action', 'Benefits Street', 'My Life On Benefits'.. the purpose of these programmes is to subvert public opinion.. whether or not that is justified is your opinion. It revolves arounds freedoms and cost.. in fact freedom costs.. that is the point.

To put things into perspective, by not invading Iraq and Afganisation it would have saved over 20 Billion pounds, and that is only up until the year 2010, excluding the last 6. So that's 2,000,000,000 divided by £247 per ambulance call out = 8,097,165,991 extra ambulance callouts. Do you think our government was thinking about us when they did this?

Its because people have moved away from christanity. Most peoples idea of sunday worship is visiting b&q or watching football slugging on a beer bottle.
No one goes to church anymore. I've seen churches in somerset where tourists are inside marvelling at the quaint setting ooing and aaing and
white indigenous chav drunks are drinking and pizzing themselves on the benches outside.
Now islam is taking over things will be cleaner.

Actually, it's cheap TV, incredibly cheap TV. At least that's what I was lead to believe by an old childhood friend who works as a producer on such programmes at C4 (four in a bed, big brother, fried chicken shop).
Sounds a bit too much conspiracy theory for my liking this to subvert public opinion stuff.

I think it's more to do with the fact that there has been cut after cut to the NHS funding over recent years. I think that's more harmful to the NHS than migrants personally.

Ps, I only mentioned people snuffing it because you did. :)

I think you need to stop this pretend religion of yours Roger.
You're not religious, you think it's man made, something to control the masses. And as far as we can make out, you don't go to church or do anything good in the name of faith.
Where, by the way, is 'Islam taking over'?

You wanted to know why society has lurched into the gutter. I've given you the answer which clearly sticks in your craw.

No I never asked for an answer from a pseudo-Christian.

However, you didn't answer my question about 'Islam taking over'.

Ok heres what I dont get about the tax situation in this country. For example you pay your tax and the council decides to build a car park with that money on the edge of town so people can park and use the shops. Then they decide to charge for you parking there but also your still paying tax.... Its simple you should either pay a reduced rate of tax once big projects are out the way or park for free. But nope they need to justify budgets to keep themselves in the job and the more money they can blag the higher their profile and up the ladder they go.

I used to work for o2 in the engineering sector and saw this go on all the time. I was proud that I could achieve a certain project under budget however some people who messed up and spent more would get promotion when really they promised something they cant deliver. Im with the guy that started this thread, money to the nhs is squandered. My mrs works for the nhs and see's too many managers doing not alot if they are ever there.

Ive given up thinking about it and taking politics seriously. I just keep telling myself we are not bee's or ants and money is not honey. Dont ask me how I came up with that but it kinda makes sense
