As well as waste, there is schools, police, fire, libraries (the ones that are left), parks & recreation (swimming pools, theatres, museums etc), public spaces, trading standards, record keeping (such as birth, deaths and marriages), street cleaning, social services - looking after children and the elderly, housing, street lighting....
OK, will shut up now!! Grins.
Supposedly but :-
waste - you have to pay to dispose of commerical waste which is basically an added tax for using the service you've already paid for, this has pushed people to to flytip - perhaps if the government made large construction companies actually pay tax, it would mean small tradesmen/business/people that can barely afford to dispose of waste don't having to pay again... also the council doesn't dispose of large household items you have to pay - YOUVE ALREADY FUKCING PAID NO IFS NO BUTS.
schools - aren't most under-performing? I mean not nearly as bad as under Labour, but compared to countries like China we have a terrible education system - again you've got to pay to give your child a proper private education or you are lucky enough to be in the catchment area of a well performing state school.
police - nuff said on this really, used to be called constables, now called officers or 'enforcers', primary role is to generate revenue for the government (punitive fines etc etc), actual police work and neighbourhood relations NON-EXISTANT, certainly the case in the city where everyone is from somewhere else, no culture, any national identity completely destroyed, don't blame police for being shyte at their job
fire - check - closing them down year on year - noble profession while it lasts
libraries - check - closing them down year on year, some services you have to pay for, ones I have been to demand an hourly fee to use a computer, despite the fact there may be no demand for them at that time, hence no reason to charge - IVE ALREADY PAID TAX FOR THIS SERVICE
parks & recreation - check - some nice parks in London
swimming pools, theatres, museums etc - name me one you don't have to pay to visit? I can think of one and it's sh1t (the tate modern)
trading standards - lol
record keeping - check
street cleaning looking after children and the elderly, housing, street lighting - check - although for the most part this is a disgusting country, litter in the metropolitan areas is a big problem, the council should clean this up, it doesn't happen for the most part. Round my way piles of stinking filth/fly tipped/waste bags lie around for months sometimes before being cleaned up. Doesn't matter who did it, SORT IT FFS !!
social services - yeah ok, when they get it right
Honestly if this is democracy how bad is communism ?
