There were stories of people using Wonga to fund holidays…those folks are idiots.

Ironically most of the my ended up getting those holidays for free as the regulators killed off payday loan companies with misselling judgements. Which mean people didn’t actually being accountable for consequences of their actions! (Not that I condone payday loan cos)

Are you shocked that a person in a rented home finds that it has a dishwasher?

Very wise of her to run it with a full load

Washing up by hand uses more water and more energy (and is less hygienic) so costs more.

You are talking nonsense just for the sake of trying to find a contrary reply.

A squirt of fairy/non-branded detergent is cheaper than DW tablets and electricity and maintenance costs.

So clearly the desperate person has not done 'all she can do', she's clinging on to the non-essentials. So what other non-essentials is she still using despite claiming she can't afford it? And that is the issue with many people today, they do not know how to cut back when they really need to. No they will just blame someone else for their own problems, and not take personal responsiblity.

And the other problem is the likes of yourself trying to defend them.

She's had to cancel her Disney Plus TV subscription. My heart bleeds!

Everything, absolutely almost everything is going up. We went in Morrisons for some freshly cooked pies, I think they were up as well as this bottle of ginger/mango drink and the bottle of Brandy. We love a mashy, fishfinger type thing that has cheese and cream, it was out of stock so we went to Iceland for that as I'm desperate for those and our online supermarket Tesco has been out of stock for a couple of weeks - these had gone up from 250p to 300p - we filled one of the cars up with the ordinary diesel so topped up at Morrisons, now almost 180 and our regular bp station is 184 and I think around 200p for the premium diesel.

A few weeks ago with sky, our pacakge over a hundred quid inc anytime phone calls to most number and sky Q mulit room was just over a hundred a month - one of my children that lives with us deals with that and she said we were going with virgin, the first guy said he could do nothing re improve paakcge other than give us some crap channel for free for 3 months - but then my we rang again having put the phone down and got a blinding deal almost 25 quid off for same package. IMHO I think they know peole are prioritising food and fuel

With the preice of eletric and disel I can see foor prices easily go up by another 35% by Dec.

Inflation here is running at 9% worst in the G7 and likely to go higher. This hides another fact. The inflation levels on essentials will be higher. It was thought to be running at ~12% on those earlier on.

The USA feel they can avoid a recession but expect a bumpy ride. UK ????????

In a rented home? Where the landlord paid for the cost of the dishwasher and installation? And repairs? And these costs are bundled into the rent you pay? Even if you choose not to use it?
