Living rooms have shrunk?

Consider who actually "owns" the most land in the UK though.
Forestry Commission

I understand the forestry commission is a government department.

So a land value tax would be slapping a tax on itself

Which proves that government departments currently pay tax.
But the current situation, or any repercussion of that current situation, is not a sensible argument against LVT.

Did you not read the link?

Government departments are mostly VAT registered, they pay vat on their invoices but reclaim it. Have you never done a VAT return?

Milton Friedman (Nobel Prize winning economist) a monetarist who inspired Margaret Thatchers free market reforms and who Thatcher herself praised and endorsed LVT.

Lady Thatcher "Milton Friedman revived the economics of liberty when it had been all but forgotten. He was an intellectual freedom fighter. Never was there a less dismal practitioner of a dismal science. "I shall greatly miss my old friend's lucid wisdom and mordant humour."

So back to LVT. As a transfer from the rich to the poor - is that an argument against it? Maybe if you read the DM.

What do we currently have? Income taxes paid by the middle and higher earners of which some is redistributed to the poor. Our taxes pay for more than just welfare.

Currently there is about 60m acres of land in the UK. About 40m acres is owned by about 6000 people. Shifting the burden of tax to land would be a better way to raise taxes. Anyone who knows an iota of economics will not argue against that.

About the dumbest statement so far. NHS employees workers who pay income tax - thats slapping a tax on themselves.

Are you trying to suggest the LVT is a lie, but if you repeat it enough everybody will believe it?

Or are you trying to say LVT is a utopian tax and anybody that doesnt agree is therefore stupid?

If you think tbe correct answer is 2, then perhaps if you want people to buy into believing it, you might want to stop calling them stupid. :)

You haven't an idea what you are on about. Why don't you actually read up.

Are you in the building trade? I think you are. That would be telling you have to build foundations, walls , cladding when I just have no experience but then arguing inane points to back myself up.

So why are all these free market pro capitalists suddenly become so Marxist when it comes to land and taxes. I thought they would support lower tax on labour to encourage enterprise.

Who are these 6000 people? Can you name them?

Duke of Buccleuch & Queensberry, Trustees of Dukedom of Atholl, Prince Charles, Duke of Westminster etc

Tell me how does the Duke of Westminster avoid paying IHT on his £10bn estate?
