Yep folks, I have two underground repairs on 4 core 25mm² SWA to do in the morning, sat in the snow, icy cold wind. Don't you just love digger drivers

I hate doing resin filled cable joints. Best keep the resin packet on the dashboard with the heater on full before you mix it.

Yep get the resin pack on the dash on the journey there then stick it up your jumper or down your pants.... your preference....

I'm feeling jealous already..

Did a job a few years ago on a holiday park replacing all the van outlet boxes, replacing damaged cables, etc
I was there all Winter (Nov - Mar)

I feel for you mate.

I always get lots of external lightining jobs at this time of year. Tomorrow its a shop in the centre of brum.

How did it go?

Try being an air con guy during this time. Up on some desolate roof staring at a heat pump which actually cools the minus whatever air to give heat indoors.

Well just to cheer you all up, I was at a job until 8.30 tonight. It was TN-S, cast iron cutout and a Ze of 3.20Ω

dont heat the resin with excessive heat like boiling water etc, it goes lumpy and is even worse to mix

I talked myself out of the cable repair until the snow goes away - 6 inches at the moment and we are due a lot more over the next couple of days.
If it blows I will have to repair it but the insulation tape can do it's job for now along with a few broken strands of armour. Zs at the far end it fine so I am not going to freeze!
