Hi all.

Have a mains leak outside my house, not covered because it's on my property, likely lead pipe.

Going through home insurance who are covering a 'find and fix', will this be sufficient? Or will I likely need to start looking at replacing the old lead pipes anyway?

I was also wondering if I turn my mains off from the outside supply to stop the leak, will my combi boiler be ok and should I turn it off? Or would this cause damage?

Thanks all going for a dip in my new swimming pool in the front garden now

Boiler will be ok ,just don't turn on hot taps .
Fill up kettle and bath ,for flushing loo .
Then turn off mains .
Find and fix guys may give you quote to replace pipes when they are there .

Would I be better not using the heating either? Or just the water I'd need to worry about? We have been offered find and fix or they will give us a sum towards replacement so waiting to see what their investigation brings up. Thanks for your reply.

Sorry a question I forgot to ask if anyone would know, we are due snow/frost tonight and tomorrow, would turning off my mains put my other pipes at risk of a burst?
