Maybe they have changed it. l, I don't know, but a few year back there was a (trade) guy over at UHM complaining that he and his mate had both wrecked the gearboxes in their '453s because the gear wheels were nylon (although TBH they were using them as percussive hammers to fix front door frames which drew the comment that they maybe shouldn't be such tight asses). Hence my comments. Sorry if I was mistaken, but for durability under heavy workload you I think you still need metal gears AND a metal gearbox, which is possibly Bosch have moved all their heavier corded drills onto metal gearboxes in recent years
