Only if you're not worried about the additional 6.5m of potential sea level rise from the rest of Greenland's glaciers that may or may not be avoided by taking action."Major sea-level rise from the melting of the Greenland ice cap is now inevitable, scientists have found, even if the fossil fuel burning that is driving the climate crisis were to end overnight."
Might as well crack on as normal then.
Nothing like on here then.just batting ideas backwards and forwards, bit like on here
Are these the things we need to "stop" but, in fact, can do if we wish?Watch me lecture you with a sincere face for a few mins on all the things 'we' need to stop doing to save the planet.
You get the idea where I'm coming from, services rendered kind of thing.
if sea levels are rising, and the problems escalating I don't think it will be 1000 years before it's a problem. As a society we struggle to look further ahead than 4 or 5 years, and with so many other pressing problems the fact that over the next 1000 years sea level rise will become a serious problem, esp when some of the worlds most populus areas need to find some where else to live!
But it is quite a thought that cities like London will have to be moved to higher ground in may be 400 to 600 years time. I wonder if theywill just abandon it or will they try and move all the historic buildings stone by stone.
Whether we can change things or not, is no reason not to tryAre these the things we need to "stop" but, in fact, can do if we wish?
Absolutely, but the sceptics claim we have been ordered to stop doing things by the "global elite". That is just wrong...Whether we can change things or not, is no reason not to try
Sooner than that, we're looking at at least 50cm by 2100 which makes cities like Hull very vulnerable. London will get an upgraded tidal barrier but anywhere less significant but equally or more at rosk will have to be engineered to survive being flooded or abandoned. As a society we struggle to look further ahead than 4 or 5 years, and with so many other pressing problems the fact that over the next 1000 years sea level rise will become a serious problem, esp when some of the worlds most populus areas need to find some where else to live!
