It doesn’t say much about the current crop of politicians / advisors when govts keep bringing back these blasts from the past.

I think Starmer is wrong bringing back people from the Blair period, although I can see with 14 years in opposition there’s a dearth of experience in the party.

A role like that demands experience knowledge and diplomacy.
