If it was ever a democracy you’d have free speech .
Unless free speech is mistakenly allied to democracy.

Free Speech in a democracy can be summed up with: as long as you recognise the boundaries, you will have complete freedom within those boundaries.

Those boundaries will inevitably change from time to time.

But as I've lost my grip on reality, you won't have a coherent argument against my proposition. :)

inevitably. When the supposed hard done by , poor us , brigade start waving the discrimination card about, backed by the pc snowflake club.
nonsense.
the definition isn’t ‘the right to express ones opinion without censorship or restraint’ ......subject to the boundaries.
Or is that just your version of it?

Depending on who sets the boundaries, free speech could be totally stifled.
There are obvious times throughout history when free speech is "inevitably changed".
Is there a right for terrorist organisations to enjoy free speech?
Is there a right during war for conscientious objectors to campaign for conscientious objection?
In the words of ReganandCarter, there are endless scenarios that could apply, but I just can't think of any. :)

totally irrelevant point.
boundaries +free speech= no free speech
In football, you can have a free kick, but you're not totally free to do what you want.
In snooker you can have a free ball, etc.
You can have free and fair elections, but some parties are banned.

Freedom has boundaries. You can be a free man, but you don't have total freedom to go/do what you want.

Just as well they weren’t Romanian after last nights champions league match!!
