Has been accused of sexual shenanigans, and worse. He may be guilty, he may have paid some off with non disclosure clauses to silence them, but surely if he was guilty of a crime, that crime should trump any non disclosure clause in a court of law? Well, lets see what he has to say when they take him to court, oh wait...

Thought I just heard on the wireless that Harrods may be gearing up to throw some dosh at the victims. Can't be 100% sure I was only half listening.

If that's true, you can almost guarantee that the number of alleged 'victims' will increase exponentially.

Mo was the boss not the employer, but that didn’t help the catholick church

He’s dead. So people can say what they like.

Compromise agreement is in effect a settlement for the damages. If it’s well written and properly entered in to with legal advice taken. It is a full and final settlement.

Nothing in a compromise agreement can limit or gag a witness called to give evidence in a criminal case.

People make noises about not offering a settlement before offering a settlement. It’s normal.

According to this extract from the BBC News website article, it appears that you were right!

Fourteen of the women the BBC has spoken to have brought civil claims against Harrods' current owners for damages.

Harrods said it has a process available to women who say they were attacked by Fayed, adding "it has been our priority to settle claims in the quickest way possible, avoiding lengthy legal proceedings for the women involved".

Sounds that way as not suing his estate got a mention.

Some of the details are fascinating. Women in jobs close to him were sent for medical examinations. They thought general health but they turned out to be full medicals including tests for SDI's etc, smears. It seems one doc that did these is available but there were others.

Complaint resulted in threats such as never work in London again, we know where your family is. Harrod's security checking to see if the women concerned were in other relationships.

One NDA resulted in a shredder van at the ladies legal reps place. All destroyed but she has transcripts that escaped the shredder. I think she was actually raped.

Another fought him off and left. She was on the panel discussing it all. Taken to see him by a security person

As it seems this only applied to women who were often with him can't see why there should be loads more complaints - it seems to relate to ~20 but can't remember the exact number mentioned.

They have bought in a US lady lawyer famed for winning cases like this. A specialist.

Surely any claim would be against his estate?
You can certainly enforce contracts and any claim that existed before his death may still have merit, but the rather large challenge is the ability of the representative to defend the allegation against the deceased.

For that reason most claims can’t be considered.

For criminal proceedings such as rape etc.

You cannot continue once the suspect/defendant has died.

Case law below
