My Tits are back!

There are two chicks left in the nest, but I have a feeling one of them is dead. The funny thing is, I saw the mother giving it a right bashing yesterday.

Phew! What a weird turnout though.
One fledgling out of seven hatchlings, I'm sure the adult bird killed them.
During their first week, we had a lot of rain and the adults were soaking wet as they were brooding the chicks, maybe it due to the conditions, they weren't able to provide for them and had to sacrifice the others?

No visible action in the tit box yet, I’ve been checking daily, but this morning there looks like a little poop in there so maybe it had a viewing yesterday. Fingers crossed.

Now and again, I get a visitor in mine. Last year I kept notes, and it wasn't until the 6th of April that the nest building started. It took 2 weeks to build the nest.

They must be a hardy breed up there. Both times I’ve had tits start nesting down here, it’s been the middle of May. I’ve just been out and cleaned it out and moved it a little bit - 6” to the right and a foot lower. Might make a difference as it was a bit high.
