I would take the ridge tiles off and tiles 3/4 rows down and place felt over ridge, replace battens and tiles and re bed the ridges.

An update on the mystery damp patch!
After having had next to no rain for the past 6 weeks or so, we conclude that it is probably not a rainwater problem! I think we may be under attack from below - water is coming up through the floor and not the brickwork. It looks like there may be a collapsed sewer in the road outside, highways have had a look and are going to refer to Severn Trent.
Ballcock! Damp will not rise that high up from the ground.
My odds:
Guttering, 4-5 fav
Tiles/felt 7-1
Leadwork 10-1
Underground 100-1 outsider!
and theyre off..........
He said second set of pics 3rd pic, no lead work there, water is cascading over the end on to gable wall , soaking down thru the corner.Water wash may have come from when the mortar was drying out - the lead goes all the way under the stone and overlaps the other side by 2" so water 'shouldn't' be able to get through?
Waiting for funny colours to appear on the inside - might take a few days......
