N + E 240v

Hi,
New to site but have a big problem thats left me scratching, live metal work in property, live between neutral and earth on both lighting circuit x1
plus live between neutral + earth on ring circuit x1,

No new appliances have been fitted and no handy work has been done so i am lead to believe,

checked for cross polarity? what are the IR readings?

have checked with stick tester, going back to the property tomorow with megger, the live + earth is also giving a reading on stick and i have fully dismantled the board so as to eliminate the other circuits. I hope there hasnt been a rat in there.

What do you mean by a stick tester?

voltage meter, hand held, also does continuity but doesnt give such precice readings as megger or simmilar

would this be a TT install? or even an IT install? you haven't said..
