In your opening post you made two points.

1) You don't like dogs
2) People who aren't responsible shouldn't get dogs.

I addressed 2) in fact I said you were correct. Then you kept on going on about how you don't like dogs so obviously one has to point out that is your loss.

Get them a guinea pig or two. They are cute little creatures, need very little attention, so that would be good for you.

A well trained working dog is a pleasure to watch.

However all that discipline comes at a price. Do not be fooled into thinking that these dogs are loved and petted and pampered they are not. There is only so much you can get them to do with just a doggy chew. The training regime is harsh, some say cruel. Ho hum.

I admire working dogs and the relationship with their master. These animals are kept out of the house and are used for a job. No bad smells in the home and no dog hair in every nook and cranny either.

To say i don't like dogs is not fair. Pets - yes.

1, It's not a pure bred german shepherd it's a cross with a Belgian Malinois.

Belgian Malinois are alot more protective animal than a gs and also have alot more high prey drive than a gs.

Only a buffoon would take one negative story to prove a point - when there's dozens of positive stories out there about police dogs and GSD pets.

Well trained in what ?
A dog can be well trained in protection or searching for criminals but the socialising still needs to be inforced.
No dog should ever go straight into an attack known as the 2nd stage
As many people do wrong in training their dog and teach it that growling is wrong or not acceptable behaviour.
In the end the dog thinks growling is wrong and go's straight in to a bite.

A properly trained dog ie protection etc should always growl/bark 1st stage first to let you know it's not happy or under threat, then if the situation changes ie
the dog becomes more threatened then the 2nd stage is the attack.
