National wood shortage, cause?

Also, all fencing is imperial measurements.

You will see more and more reference to the metric sizes when written in catalogues or on web pages. The chatter down the mills is still hanging on to the old imperial sizes but that is also changing as the young guard comes through.

I'm finding myself having to ask for doors more in the metric equivalent rather than their imperial size, as some of the younger staff have to dive back in the book.

I like metric.

America (USA, Canada)?

Are European sheets 1220 x 2420?

Plywood and mdf are mostly 2440 x 1220. 3050 x 1220. 3050 x 1500

8 x 4 10 x 4 10 x 5 in old money

I always think of doors sizes in metric, even though they are legacy imperial

I.e. 762 x 1981 838 x 1981 etc

Several things seem to be winding down due to lockdown, Brexit or both. Never saw the postie all last week until Saturday when he delivered 2 letters. Apparently the local sorting office still has lots of Xmas post.

And if the Covid mortality 'stats' were accurate, maybe that would explain the shortage of pine.

I like metric.

Which do you prefer 568ml or a pint?

I only use imperial for things like people's height and weight. long distances, some beverage measurements and vehicular speed / fuel consumption. Most other things I would use metric.
