need tool advice for my little project

i want to make 2 arcade joysticks for my ps3 as a fun project
i've seen a video on youtube and i want to make to the wooden case the same

i have asked the guy first but he hasn't replied yet.
i just want to know which tools i need to use to cut out a thin layer to drop the acrylic in so as it's flush with the wood
and how to round the outside of the wooden case so perfect

to that quality off finish probably over 1ks worth off tools and bits

The recess for the acrylic is worked using a rebate bit (so you'll need a router). The edges are rounded-over using a round over bit (also requires the router). To get accurate drilling the guy probably use a drill press and the finishing looks like it was done by spraying. Good luck if you wish to proceed
