Nelson Mandela

It's irrelevant what I think. I'm not the type who would protest and destroy something that I didn't agree with.... There are people either side of the argument who'd not agree with either me or you..
Ah, so you're just throwing up a straw man argument because you're not upset about a statue that you probably never saw and probably don't support putting back up again.

For the record I think I would have been in support of Nissan Maindealer... If I was in his shoes.

Plenty of dead beat students , probably funded by the tax payer , want rid of cecil rhoades statue .

Afaik its made of stone , so no real value best it stays where it is :)
You're a bit out of touch, modern students pay for their education, it's only proper old timers who got it for free.

And old Home of Bishop's Stortford Football club.

But not set in stone..

So rip that racists statue down!

they will obviously repay it

I refuse to use that name as I can't spell it. But I didn't think Voldemort had been pulled down.

Personally I prefer the plaque with a 'He was a nasty bit of work but he gave money to schools' approach. But I can see why it might not fly for some.

Much obliged :D

Broadly speaking yes, easier to fund 10% of the country getting a uni degree than half.

Indeed, and to rub salt into the wounds IT wasn't considered a proper university degree, it was a subsidiary subject. IT was a Polytechnic subject. Times and the subject I concede have changed.

I think that's fair. We need to know our history. Who was it moaning a while back that their history wasn't part of what we learn in schools.
