To me that pipework looks like a combi set up with zones for upstairs and down. We would need to see the pipework looking up under the boiler to say for sure.

If a Nest/Hive or MiG is fitted after the OP moves in, he'll/she'll feck up his warranty on the Heating system. Any problems with anything they'll walk!!fitting nest is no problem but i hate those zones valves ( reliance i think ), nothing wrong with the boiler as i expect your engineer don't know these boilers so he automatically hates them
Danfoss will be the Builder's Spec Dan. Buying new build doesn't permit too much choice & the Golden Rules are; get everything serviced to maintain your warranties.Danfoss... But equally shyte.

Yes they sure do.If the plans for the house clearly show an airing cupboard with a hot water cylinder then I would suggest you inform the vendor / developer that the plumbers seem to have mis-read the plans and installed a heating / hot water system other than the system detailed in the plans.
You are not the first to experience this type of "error" by sub-contractors and you won't be the last.
