New Covid Variant - B.1.1.529

Quite so, but only half the truth. To be credible, you must grant the other half of that truth.
By the other half of that truth, I guess you mean the 10s of thousands the vaccine has saved……you know which you ignore

Boris Johnson has apologised for referring to black people as 'piccaninnies

Conservative leadership hopeful Boris Johnson has defended his infamous description of black people in Africa bearing “watermelon smiles

Piccaninny (or pickaninny): Child; esp. of negroes or South African or Australian natives. That's what it means, why apologise?

Watermelon smiles: how is this a racist insult? It's a very evocative and literary description of a happy African face.

Maybe to you, allow that others might perceive better. Take down your straw man #3, and open your mind a bit.
The quote shows they're tracking variants for all cases, not just 77 cases. Sorry you weren't capable of working that out.
Invalid arguments of no value, do show your motivations.

It explains the obvious quite clearly.

Or here "Data on omicron's severity is "encouraging" says Fauci"

I don't know if those are behind a paywall, - add Bypass Paywalls Clean to your browser.

.
Also bleedin obvious but I'll point it out in case some muppet thinks it's a major breakthrough: even if the pathogenicity is low, the rate of rise of cases may be such that the effect on society is still high. A sound reason to increase vaccinations to "flatten the curve", again.
@transam Can you translate this into English?

No, I'm talking about the simple logic of your statement "association is not causation". This will be true in some cases but not in all, and so the full truth is:

association is not always causation
but
association is not always *not* causation.

To try to find causation from association is beyond my mathematical skills and definitely beyond yours. For you and me it is simple, association is not causation.

Because offensive words are not acceptable

Especially from a person who used to be the nations chief of diplomacy and is temporarily national leader

***** an offensive word for a person from Germany

***** an offensive word for a French person

*** a very offensive word for a person from southern Europe, especially an Italian

***** a contemptuous term for a black or dark-skinned person.

***** a black man

*** a very offensive word for a Jewish person

******* an offensive word, sometimes used by children to mean ‘a stupid person’

*** a very offensive word for a person who does not have white skin

**** a person who is stupid or who has learning difficulties

There are plenty of them. There are probably words for a person who is ignorant, uneducated unintelligent and belligerent.

The trouble is the data contained within is quite old for some metrics
Indeed, as was that which you quoted - almost a month old...

But now...

"Antibodies from Pfizer vaccine may be up to 40 times less effective against Omicron, first lab tests suggest"

Do you get all your "scientific" information from the daily Express?

What do "may be" and "suggest" mean?

How has thinking of all these offensive words affected you?
How would you teach a child, or someone with a childlike mind, that a particular word is offensive without referring to that word?
As you've probably said many times, words are not offensive, it's how they are used that causes the offence.
Guns don't kill, people do, but people use guns, in the way that they were designed to be used, to kill. Sadly, for some people, guns seem to have a big label on them, saying, "please pick me up and use me."
Words alone aren't offensive until they're used by people to be offensive. It's the person that is being offensive in using a word that is know to cause offence.
And like guns, some words seem to have a big label on them saying, "please use me to be offensive."
Boris couldn't resist the opportunity. And he is applauded by some for falling to temptation to be offensive.
