maybe just the way you taken the picture but pic 1 seems to show the hot water draw off pipe vent pipe dipping down where it goes into wall there should not be a high spot in the vent pipework
the boiler install looks ok from the pics so far.

Looks like feed and vent are wrong way around...assuming the 22mm pipe behind the pump is the vent?

pete, those are fine pictures of the boiler but we all know what thye look like!

Could you take one of whats ABOVE the boiler, one of the pipework BELOW the boiler and one of the flue terminal OUTSIDE.

We will then have a far better appreciation of the installation.

Can you describe the house, number of beds, loft insulation thickness and the wall construction. Then D Hailsham will do a calculation to see what boiler power you really need.

Lastly, do you actually have any independent evidence of his CORGI registration. Wearing a CORGI tee shirt in not enough as you can buy those on Ebay.

For example did he fill in the Benchmark Certificate at the back of the book with the boiler and add his registration number. If you tell us his number then we will be able to check it for you.

The pump shaft should be horizontal - see its instructions! That'll make it noisy and wear out relatively quickly.

Well spotted Chris.

It might be worth the OP loosening the big screw at the end of the pump to see if air comes out.

I dont expect the builder would have done that if he wrongly fittted the pump like that in the first place.

Doing that makes me doubt that he is really CORGI registered.

Can't make too much sense out of those pipes - we need a better picture or two round to the left a bit.

A new eco tech plus self venting boiler was fitted in the garage (replacing floor standing ideal boiler and pump located in kitchen)and new pipework joined to the existing above the kitchen ceiling.
A New pump was installed in rear central back bedroom along with new cylinder same location as prev cylinder .

My corgi reg builder is super and is trying different things.

The CORGI reg builder fitted a new boiler Dave!

op, now I know its probably a combination of the camera angle and my carp eyesight but could you confirm that the by-pass circuit does not connect from one side of the pump to the other as it looks as though it may
and also could you confirm that that is not the same pipe marked by the two arrows in the image

He does not need to be silent.

He will not be the first or the last to be taken for a ride by a builder with the gift of the gab!
