Why not just ban these drugs? Whats wrong with coming first even if its slower than the last race?
I can see how even a pro cyclist might have a technical diagnosis of asthma, and get the steroids inhalers provide, but the ones I know ( the asthmatics) would certainly collapse well short of the tour de France finishThey are banned.
However, a sizeable contingent of commentators, industry insiders, and even ex-pros say that testing is done not to ensure that all cheats are caught, but that a chosen few are caught.
This gives an appearance of effectiveness, without derailing the money train.
