"Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few":

Shot down five times and lived to 105, he must have had a guardian angel

I saw him fight Terry Anderson in London on his comeback to winning another world title. Disappointing, as he was a big lump and very slow and ponderous. I think he knocked him out in the first or second round. One thing I remember from the night was he was very late in coming out to the ring. I think it was promoter Frank Warrens first promotion since he had been shot. As he was explaining over the mic that George was 'running late', some wag shouted "For fùcks sake Frank, get a move on or I’ll shoot you" which got a laugh from the audience as well as from Frank Warren himself.

Not mean and mean like his grill then. Apparently he made well over 100 million dollars from sales.

Apparently hulk Hogan turned down endorsing the grill....oops, cost him 200 million

He got 40 per cent of the takings, they can’t have realised it would be it successful.

He had a large car collection also kept his first ever car a VW Beetle

Afaik he called all his sons the same name George

He said that he did it because if he ever got dementia he only had to remember one name :giggle:
