Bernard Cribbins.

It's weird the things that stick in your mind. I remember getting a Hornby train set when I were a lad, Inter-City 125. In the box was a floppy (like plastic) single size record. I put it on the record player and it was a mix of train sounds and someone narrating a story of sorts. At that age I remember sitting there getting totally immersed in it.

The narrator was Bernard Cribbins :)

It was Bernard Cribbins & Willie Rushton that I remember from my Jackanory days . . . . I remember being glued to that TV screen & I remember my thirst for more. I credit the Beano & the Dandy comics for teaching me to read, skool playing very little part in that.

I credit Bernard & Willie for giving me the love of a good book, a good story, & an easy escape from the real world of reality.

I must've read 1000's of books over the years.

When the grandkids get to stay over I become Bernard Rushton when it's bedtime story time.

May your God bless you Bernie, my world is a better place because you were in it.
