Sorry. Not sure I fully understand the question so I’ll give an overly detailed response and hope that catches it.100% agree
just checking 1.8 is support under the joists and not just the space between walls above including possible extra loading sitting on the joist underneath??
I’ve added some pictures. The drawing shows the layout and the first 3 joists run to 1.8m. They’re connected into a joist hanger on one side (onto wood block in the steel I beam). On the wall side by the stairs it looks like they’re just nailed in to another joist running the other way. I think this is connected into one of the longer joists.
The joists further into the room do run the full width of 4.8ish metres. They connect into the other steel (I assume, I can’t actually see it).
The roof above these is a flat felt one.
Underneath this room for the joist in question is the bathroom. I can’t see any further supports other than the darker brown wood which look like the original roof joists pre dormer conversion and some sort of metal sheeting which I’ve never seen there before.
