Nothing like the glory days of the past - Roaming charges are back

More than half the UKs mobile users are, or soon will be, subject to roaming charges.
…if they actually roam! Most of them could avoid it if they were bothered.

More than half of the U.K. population are paying too much for their gas, electricity, phone, house insurance, car insurance etc etc because they are just too lazy to ditch and switch. Can’t help them unfortunately.

Are you subject to roaming charges? What network and plan are you on?

Tell me what network and plan you are on and I’ll point you in the direction of a MVNO that will offer you free EU roaming on that network if you’re that troubled by the possibility of increasing your EU holiday by a couple of quid.
Still waiting for @Notch7 to answer this but I expect I’ll get the same response to that question as I got from the question asking for evidence of empty shelves in his supermarket due to Brexit. I.e. **** all!

If we hadn't left the EU we wouldn't need to switch, or be limited in mobile network choices of we did. Not everyone can choose freely between all networks because of coverage.

It is a small difference but a change for the worse. Wouldn't you agree?

Not really. No different from switching networks to get a more suitable price plan. Those that want to stay on one network for life will pay a price for their apathy but they always have done. I’ve got a mate and his wife who can’t tell me what network they are on, how much they are paying and what they get for it as his wife just bought two SIM cards from Tesco some time ago. I told them to do that a few years ago when I found out they were both still paying around £35 a month each for their contract phones and the contract had long expired. It’s people like that that will pay for roaming.

O2 gives inclusive roaming and the other 3 main networks have several MVNO's piggybacking on their network that offer inclusive EU roaming so I can’t see coverage being a reason for not changing.

As an EU member there were NO roaming charges.

Since brexit there are roaming charges

When is Mottie going to admit that is WORSE

asking for evidence of empty shelves in his supermarket
I keep asking Mottie to provide a comparison of stock levels and stock shortage rates for his local supermarket……..but he cant provide any evidence whatsoever.

Mottie knows Brexit a failure but can’t admit it.

I can post pictures of full shelves if that will suit you? I did ask you earlier to notify me of your shortages due to Brexit so that I could take pictures of your shortages in my store as proof of no shortages but again, you declined to provide any. I can’t help that.

Are YOU paying roaming charges?
look at Mottie squirm.

come on Mottie, let’s see get to the bottom of this:

1) We’re there roaming charges before Brexit?
2) Are there roaming charges now?

That is not proof.

it doesn’t provide any comparison of product range / availability before and after Brexit.

So we will have to rely on evidence reported by the food and drink industry…..and they say Brexit has caused shortages.

I know. What IS proof though are pictures of EMPTY shelves. I’ve asked you time and time again to show me them, as you claim but you won’t. You just wont so all we can conclude is that there aren’t any.

1) No
2) Yes - but only for those who are too lazy to get a deal with inclusive minutes. That has been my point all along. What are you constantly having trouble understanding about that?

I'll repeat my post #194 for you. Get an adult to read it to you:

"So, to recap so far,
O2 are no not charging for roaming
Virgin Mobile on the O2 Network are not charging for roaming
Smarty on the 'Three' network are not charging for roaming
ID mobile on the 'Three' netweork are not charging for roaming
Lebara on the Vodafone network are not charging for roaming
Asda Mobile on the Vodafone network are not charging for roaming
Tesco mobile on the O2 network are not charging for roaming
BT mobile on the EE network are not charging for roaming
Plusnet mobile on the EE network are not charging for roaming.
Talkmobile on the Vodafone network are not charging for roaming
Etc Etc. Etc".

You will see that there is at least one MVNO option on each of the major networks. Do you understand now?

Again, would you pay to roam in Europe if you were to go today? If yes, tell us why?

Lets see who is going to 'squirm' now.

So Mottie, some of the operators charge for roaming in EU
as an EU member none of them did.

So we would’ve been better off staying inside the EU

As EU members they were not allowed. As non EU members they could charge if they were being ****s. O2 started it, others followed and now O2 have reversed the trend. Nobody HAS to pay to roam if they don’t want to. In the future, it will be the death of a company that charges. Market forces prevail as usual.

We don't need to stay in the EU to get inclusive roaming, so no, we wouldn’t be better off.

So that’s roaming scaremongering sorted
EHIC scaremongering sorted (Replaced with a GHIC)
International driving licence scaremongering sorted - UK licence valid in EU
Green card insurance sorted - free from your insurer.

Have we missed any other scare tactics?

But they are charging, so we haven’t managed to get inclusive roaming.

So no brexit benefit.
