O rings won't seal

I guess if no one has ideas I'll have to go without heating I just find it hard to believe that when we can go into space and head off in any direction we want that there is no way to get round a minor water leak from an o ring.

Yes, but we did not get into space on a rocket made by Ferroli!

The irony of it is that when the shuttle blew up during launch in the eighties. Guess what was at fault.

Those connections are a pita to reseal, they need to be perfectly square and the inside of the pipe needs to be spotless. Im 99% sure there's more than one oring that "could" fit that connection but only one is right. They are slip sockets and there shouldnt be any clips on them despite what was posted earlier.
