Identify the causes of crime and deal with them.

You think people can be talked into being good citizens.
Sometimes, the causes of crime are that some people are just bad bstrds who the world would be better off without.

No. I think the majority of crime is caused by a mixture of bad upbringing, low levels of literacy, and poverty.

Most criminals in Prison share these traits. Work to eradicate these problems and future society will suffer less crime.

If there are medical/genetic reasons for serial killers/paedophiles we need to identify that so we can treat baibes at birth if need be so they never become the next Fred West/Gary Glitter, whichever bad guy you want to mention.

If paedophiles have been abused themselves then they are VICTIMS, and whilst their crimes shopuld not be ignored, and whilst they should not be left to wander the streets free, they should be recognised as unwilling victims. Killing the abuser does not stop the abused becoming an abuser later on.

It's the real life vampirism.

At what point does the victim become the perpetrator?

Hard to argue that hanged murders would murder again !

Strawman argument, Hard to argue murders would murder again behind bars.

Might want to touch up on your history as to why it was stopped in the first place (mistakes).

What is the best thing to with someone like Brevic who thought his killings had a purpose?

Harvest his organs for those who need transplants.

Might want to check if you are an organ donor match to "those in charge" before supporting such an idea, would be a shame if you were set up for some crime that happened to carry the death sentence....

If I was in charge I wouldn't be wanting my organs, so I should be safe enough.

Uri, you keep mentioning that perps can be victims themselves. I have already stated that it's almost the stock excuse now for crims to actually blame someone else for their predilection to whatever crime they commit. These days we see defence lawyers say their clients had a bad upbringing, they just lost their dog a few days before robbing some defenceless old lady, or, they were sacked only a week before smashing someone's face to pulp.
Problem is,, all these bleeding heart Liberal types believe it. In that case, I do hope I get sacked, return home to find my dog has died, and suddenly remember the bad way I was brought up, only moments before robbing the OAP round the corner, beating them to death and stealing their old age pension. I'll probably be out in 2 months.

(probably one month if I also say I was extremely depressed and take class A drugs )

You seem to be mistaking my intentions. The poor background is not an excuse, its a reason.

Examine the reasons behind a crime and work to stop it happening again.

For killing someone intentionally, I say 20 years. If you show remorse for you crime, beat your drug addiction, and have somewhere stable to move to when you are released, behave well behind bars, then the prison term maybe reduced.

You're a real toughie.

The victim will still be dead in 20 years, no matter how remorseful the killer may be.......f*&k em.

What if you were suffering a mental illness at the time you killed someone, or was an addict desperate for the next fix? Your mind isn't your own, you are not fully in control of your actions.

You think being an addict desperate for a fix is a valid excuse for murder????ffs

NO! There is NO excuse for murder, that is my point! I am saying there is often a reason behind the crime, and this is what we should be tackling. That people when they commit a crime are not always fully aware of what they are doing.

Reactionary killing of a murderer solves nothing and just drags us back to the middle ages.
