OMG indeed

Somebody *****d up, I'm not disputing that. Just saying bombing Yemen wasn't exactly a military secret.
That bit wasn't secret.

The details released were though.

Nobody in their right mind can defend what happened.

The journo is saying that the chat did contain classified information. But he won't release that information at this time because he has principles and doesn't want to endanger the troops.

Trump's people are denying that it contained classified information.

The important point for me is that this is what happens when you give important jobs to people based solely on whether they uncritically support the President, rather than because they are the best people. A special sort of DEI hiring ;)

It did contain classified info' of course, when being asked uncomfortable questions about the content of the group chat, so that these questions can be batted aside.

And then magically it didn't contain anything sensitive, when being questioned about who will be sacked due to the severity of info' being leaked.

Simple Trumpist Olympic-gymnastic lying.

OK, understood. So what we need now is for somebody independent to be shown the messages by somebody in the group to establish whether or not the contents were classified.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

A journalist (and later a newspaper editor and author) I know worked for the Press Agency during the falklands war and they received a lot of live information including on casualties, they were asked by the Home Office my presumption) to use discretion on reporting things like friendly fire incidents (of which there were a horrific number), and they simply did as requested not believing it to be in the public interest. It would have been a great scoop but a dishonourable thing to do. How times have changed.

Seems a strange move by the Journo, his access to the White House is likely to be limited in the future.

When the president was asked about the incidence, he said he did not know anything about it.
Bolton said Trump would have known and was lying

So you are saying it was just chatting about military attacks in general with no details ?

Seriously?

I've no idea what the exact details were, you implied you did, so I'm asking you, the knowledgeable one who knows the details were classified.

What were those details?

Do you think or do you know? I fail to see how anyone could believe that they were discussing military attacks over a messaging service? Do you think this is how military attacks are planned?

If there really was strike package intel on the chat, the pilots on the strike were in the crosshairs had the baddies been read in.

Unless the yanks used F35's, nothing to aim at.

Was reading about the F47 today, sounds like a beast.

It's not just any messaging service. It is probably the most secure messaging service in the world.
That is the USP of it.
