Online safety bill.

Read journalist afraid of his losing job, (see the guardian has still got it's begging bowl on the go) as more people search for alternative news other than their daily diet fed to them by the msm.

The Grauniad doesn't use a paywall and asks for contributions from readers. It's up to them if they wish to pay. The paper doesn't exclude anyone from signing-up to comment. It's free.
Now. Anything to say about Alex Jones; or would you rather go and listen to one of his 'informative' rants: do you think his 'freedom of speech' is a right?

Only proper online regulation can stop poisonous conspiracists like Alex Jones.
I fully agree that there should be proper online regulation. There should be something like an Ombudsman who can oblige News Outlets or Social media sites to comply. I recognise the problems with international or foreign owned/hosted sites, and international agreement is required, or the power to suspend non-conforming sites the platform within the controllable borders, or to implement penalties for non-compliance.
Social media sites and extremist / gossip type news outlets tend to be the worst offenders.
The news outlets tend to spawn the hate/fake news/ dog whistle stories. The social media sites are lax in stopping their contributors to propagate fake news, hate comments, conspiracy theories, etc.
Currently a complaint to the owners or hosts of a media site can be ignored by those owners/hosts.
If that is the first step towards an approach to a higher authority, the owners/hosts cannot afford to ignore such complaints. They would be obliged to at least conduct an investigation and respond.

Lol they couldn't go behind a paywall or they'd go out of business.
Why are they informative rants? If your intelligent enough to work that out why do do need your 'auntie' to tell you what you can and can't watch?
Yeah but not everyone is as intelligent as me is the cry, we need to protect the plebs from themselves, we need a one size fits all, we need more mood music to keep the show on the road to keep them plebs supine and obedient.

The G. is doing just fine and trusts the quality of its reporting without resorting to the paywall employed by other papers.
The word 'informative' was a sarcastic tip at Jones' hate speech which led to innocent people being trolled with the most hateful accusations, and you seem to be fine with that: are you?
I'd be loathe to reduce the internet to a bland 'safespace' where you can't say boo to a goose but surely it's become clear that the line has to be drawn between the freedom to express yourself and the right to incite credulous nutters to commit crimes.

Or we can just have fake news to stir up things of course.

Fake news is not the same as free speech

Get the fact checkers on the case, you know like them in silicon valley lol
Poor old carman he laps up what the BBC, msm and let's not forget the scientists, where would we be without the scientists, tell him.

Yeah but do you think Alex Jones' freedom of speech has been infringed in the recent court ruling against him?

you really don't like me highlighting your unfounded conspiracies do you

What have I told you about thinking things through before you post.
You are not my dad, or have any better knowledge than anybody I listen to for advice.

your comments require very little thought, they are usually in the conspiracy camp. Come up with good supporting evidence of the things you claim and you might get more attention.

until then carry on. Keep reading that far right rubbish
