Part two to the fire alarm question.....and newsletters

This may be hearsay but i hear that if you are installing smoke alrms or fire alarms in a house now they have to be run in FP200? is this a fabrication or true? plus is there a website i can sign up to that sends me all the correct and very up to date info like a news letter on everything that has been up dated with all kinds of electrical work

Standard domestic interlinked smokes do not require wiring in a fire proof cable, FP or otherwise.

I seem to remember hearing that the NIC are starting to request that domestic smoke alarms are to be wired in cable with a non-standard colour sheath.
