But, whilst I agree that to make good decisions you cant have emotional involvement... but what is the answer to lives destroyed by people who , knowing it to be wrong... still abuse kids???

Fine - help them while they are locked up, but recognise 2 things:

1) Some of them can never be helped enough to be safely released.

2) Some of them (and this applies to all sorts of wrong-doers, not just paedophiles) have behaved so appallingly that no matter how successfully they can be helped, and no matter how remorseful they are, and no matter how safe they are guaranteed to be, they have simply and irrevocably forfeited the right to ever live in society again.

1) I think you'll find that concept appeared in a book written by people who wanted to justify their attitudes by claiming that some higher authority told them to say it. A bit like some of the defences tried at Nuremberg.

The charges were for sexual assault which is not rape, he was probably wily enough to use other less easily proven forms of sexual abuse. I am no expert in this field but am curious whether the authorities would easily be able to recognise and prove anal or oral abuse.

I am extensively travelled in the far east and would suggest anyone who disagree's with the ultimate deterrant takes a trip there before making up their minds. The slobbering perverts who openly see any children as fair game are nothing but s*** who need putting down.
