I don't doubt it. Starmer is also a serial liar, as are many politicians when they want your vote. Much of his election campaign and time before it was built on lies. He caught people out with his sober paid for suits and air of legal profession propriety.

However Johnson on the other hand had a long history of being unreliable and playing fast and loose with the truth. He was fined for breaking lockdown rules, expected the public to accept that Jennifer Acuri was giving him business lessons, was unreliable with other partners. He was even sacked from The Times for lying. His claims and exaggerations for Brexit benefits don't stand up to scrutiny.

That's the difference. Johnson is an inveterate liar and anything he utters is highly suspect. Starmer may be making a good fist of it now, but in the whole picture, he's just a beginner.
