Manifesto promises are just statements of intent.
As a week is supposed to be a long time in politics, then circumstances can change which means the original promise is no longer deliverable.

The quitter argument is that MP's are thwarting the 'will of the people' because most stood for 'delivering brexit' as listed in their party manifestos at the last turning over of the dung heap in 2017...

And yet as is perfectly obvious (and as vinty has stated), those manifestos aren't a cast iron pledge...

So that quitter argument is null and void!

I think people want to believe what they want to believe. It makes them comfortable. Reading material that suits those beliefs, hanging out with like minded people. No amount of reason can sway some people, they're happy in their bubble.

Hence the ever increasing amounts spent on social media by political campaigns...

Get people to believe that they are indeed 'right', and 'convince' them that there are more people thinking the same way than is the actual case...
