He was a sh*te actor, where people get the idea he was a good actor is beyond me. Shame he popped it and Columbo was fairly watchable despite the inevitable just one last thing in every single episode and all that but a sh*te actor all the same.
He was a character actor for Christs sake...and his face fitted the parts he played.Like Sid James...nothing special but they fitted the niche they were given,and played it well.
