Makes sense. But a cynic could equally argue that, akin to the recent blanket SMS texting to mobile phones regarding a spurious accident claim, providing personal information about a valid and live email account may be of some marketable value to interested third parties.
Personally I think it's a legitimate site, hence why I was happy to cast my vote according the the rules.

Some people are just so miserable these days
There is clearly an internet campaign going on to ensure your favourite wins however there is also clearly an internet campaign going on to ensure the crappy van pic wins. If you think that's playing by the rules and is a fair way to win a holiday you're a complete idiot.

Guess we are all idiots as its an internet based competition relying on people who use the internet to vote via the internet and by using the internet to gain votes in whatever way the internet can benefit such a competition is a ploy that both families opted to do. Do explain to me the rules as you would interpret such a competition.
The caravan family opted to use the internet in a less fair manner than the family I was supporting but you were not to know that but i'm sure you would have asked at some point.
They won by the way, and I am glad to have helped a lovely genuine non viral, non spamming, non cheating, non heart wrenching family on their way to a lovely holiday.
So in a nutshell go back to your glum miserable hovel and await the next post for peoples genuine requests to which i am sure you will give your somewhat jealous opinion to.
Thanks to every one else who helped this good friend of mine win a cracking holiday for his wife n kids, Not very often you find out about winners of these such prizes let alone know one.
