Poor kid

It’s fair to say that this area of Woking were shocked when she died. This justice won’t bring her back.

I suspect that if the authorities had tried to act these awful individuals would have started to play the race card

And this home schooling caper should be seriously looked into
I have some professional experience of this. When I first retired as a Head (primary), I was aked to go to a rough area of Pembs to look after school for 6 months. It was in 'significant improvement', or special measures light. It was a thing to find that questionable families/parents played the home schooling card when I got 'intrusive' about attendance and what I felt was neglect. The council really didn't want to get involved- I was shocked, being a county outsider. I have long shouted about home school situations coming under inspection rules, but hey ho.

Life sentences for both. Minimum 40 years for the dad, 33 for the stepmom. 16 years for the uncle that turned a blind eye to the abuse. Cùnts, the lot of 'em.

Should have been whole life tariffs for both of them and min 20 years for the uncle.

Scum.

It will cost the state some thing in the region of over 4 million £ ??? To
Keep these scum bags in prison !!!!!!

I listened to some of the judges summing up at lunchtime, I had to stop listenting to it.
No way could I have been a jurer on this trial, I'm sure I would have attempted to do something that would also land me in the dock.

I just hope that they receive just punishments in prison from other prisoners that actually care about children.

Same here, I was listening on radio whilst on M6 motorway today- it was sad and LBC was going through all the trauma this girl faced.
I struggled to listen, turned over to bbc radio 5, and they were covering it too. After 5 mins I couldn't bear no more and went on to TalkSport.

I'm sure a lot of jurors would have shed a few tears, very difficult to sit through all that detail.

Don't they always excuse the jurors for life to never be asked for service again in these type of cases

Who would administer these inspections, do you think; Social Services?

There is huge pressure to keep costs down in social services. That alone is why kids will be kept with families or fostered.

No, start with education inspectors, maybe local council ones; moving on to SS if neglect of any kind (educational or personal) is seen or suspected. The latest new law would give councils the right to remove the parental choice to home school.
