Thanks. That's Mollie the collie, she's a lot of fun.
I took the picture at The Meldons, it's about five miles north of Peebles.

I've always wanted a Collie, I was offered a pup at Christmas but with both of us working, it wouldn't be fair on the pup, I know they need a lot of stimulation, and the wife's a cat person, got a couple, but as far as I've always seen, Collies seem to be affable with most other beasts.

I've got an old mate in Peebles, born and bred but spent most of his working life down south. His name's Jock, he may also go under the name Davy.

The bigsy wee cratur’ was feelin’ that prood,
He gapit his mou’ an’ he croakit oot lood:
“Gin ye’d a’ like tae see a richt puddock,” quo’ he,
“Ye’ll never, I’ll sweer, get a better nor me.
I’ve fem’lies an’ wives an’ a weel-plenished hame,
Wi’ drink for my thrapple an’ meat for my wame.

My spellchecker thinks i'm having a nervous breakdown. :D

A neighbour of mine moved to Peebles to be nearer civilisation in his old age, his name was Jock, all his dogs were called Jock, his cockerel was also called Jock.

This half-dead tree has been threatening to come down for ages. I fact it was only the lower dead boughs touching the ground that were holding it up. The recent winds must have finally been too much for it.
