Some people do pronounce it that way. But, it's not that simple. As it's a Gaelic spelling of Mary, MH = V.
So, should it be Vary? I don't know.

Fair point, but perhaps it's a regional difference where some speak a grammatically correct form of the language where others tend to 'drop their 'aitches' and aspirate the 'V' rather than pronounce it. I haven't enough experience in discerning those differences and wouldn't like to guess much further than that.

This car is parked in one of the streets near to my garage.

Funny thing is, if you see the owner walking down the street, you’d give him a wide berth. He looks like Yul Brinner on steroids, wears a combie overcoat, metal tipped shoes and has a massive gold ring on every finger of both hands but when you talk to him, he has a very high pitched voice. His previous car wasn’t as bad as this one but when I asked him why he decorates it like he does, he just shrugs and says in his high pitched voice “My children love it and they help me decorate it". Trouble is, he said that to me at least 10 years ago so feck knows how old his kids are now - he must be in his early to mid 50’s now!

Edit: I wonder what would happen if it was in an accident - would they restore it to exactly how it was before the accident?
