ok. spend more time off trying to convince them you are. i dont know their terms and conditions but speaking from a position of having to quote my employers T+C's everyday there are exceptions as well as inclusions.

as i mentioned before the BM series have their own GC numbers, they are often regarded as seperate appliances.

you seem to be covered for the boiler and controls, if they reckon you are covered then the engineer was obviously lying to dodge the job. i hope you get the pump for free but i doubt you will.

i'll also say again. be wary of draining the BM down to replace the pump, if the cold feed is blocked they certainly are not going to repair that FOC or even at all.

D&G call it a repair protection plan that includes breakdown cover. I'm confused to say the least, really confused. I understand what you're saying but the D&G literature seems to suggest cover, and since I've paid £300 for the cover I hope that it'll be sorted.

not wishing to kick a man whilst he is down...... £300 sounds like an awful lot to cover so little. a BG, and perhaps e.on or their other competitors, contract would cover far more for a similar of cheaper price. you would get your pcb with BG and the pump too, you just wouldnt get a new cylinder should it be unrepairable.

cover for a such a simple boiler as the suprima should only really ever need to change the pcb once in a while. ok its expensive-ish but hardly a major repair. your contract gets your controls but you dont get rads,pipework and a host of other stuff.

Twas so expensive as I phoned Potterton with the fault and this was the cover they could offer, hence wanting to maximise repairs that can be undertaken providing they're within the policy. D&G would offer central heating system plus boiler for £15 per month had there not been a fault.

Would the water circulation pump really be considered part of the water storage tank or would it fall into the previous list that appears to be covered.

My opinion about any insurance policy is that you never know for certain what you are covered for until you make a claim

Only the underwriters seem able to understand the exclusions etc

Your pump on your boilermate will not be covered ..Ask for a refund as fault lie with your gledhill unit.

The underwriters gave me a job reference number and seemed bemused that Heat team said they don't do water circulation pumps. D&G asked me to ensure that I tell them that the water circulation pump should be covered. I guess I'll see tomorrow when I phone Baxi/Heat Team/Potterton.

I still need to get a Pump Drive PCB - any recommendations for retailers?

Not possible - Potterton Boiler Control Board already replaced. The pump fault has appeared since the board change but the Gledhill control the pump not the Suprima (which I believe is unique to the Gledhill).

Your pump WILL NOT be covered as it is part of your gledhill unit which we wont touch. D&G are aware of this and should have never sold you the policy..Complain and get refund.
