Pregnant eleven year old.

Maybe I am old fashioned but I was 22 and married when I had my first son - I was old by some standards in the military hospital he was born in too!

We have never expected anyone else except us to keep our kids either - that's the difference here.

The poor girl's own mother has umpteen other kids and she is a single mum - more than likely living off the state and ignoring 90& of them.

I say poor girl because how can a CHILD of 11 really be happy being pregnant & about to bring another life into the world? I'll bet she's scared out of her wits. All kids need role models and it would appear that this girl didn't have a very good one if any at all. How can the woman who gave birth to her claim to be her 'mother'?

Mothers are supposed to nurture, take care of & set examples to their children. Where is this womans proof of that?

As for prosecuting the 15yr old boy, what's the point? Any young lad given the chance would get his end away & he might have thought he to be older than 11. Surely this is one prime example that sex education and the provision of contraception in the UK today is just not good enough.

I've seen this with my own eyes - young girls asking for the morning after pill or contraceptive advice after the 'deed' has taken place.

Surely we should take away their embarrassment and risks of unwanted pregnancy, STD's, abortions and the like and not having a public outcry after the events?????

I wouldn't have touched an 11 year old with my 'bargepole' when I was 15.

It's not the norm.

As for the morning after pill - well that just makes it easy to get pizzed, get laid and get away with it. The parent doesn't even know the kid has taken it.

Oh what a surprise - what makes me think that you two are indeed one and the same?

Joe - if you read my post properly you will note that I said Any young lad given the chance would get his end away & he might have thought her to be older than 11.

As in thinking she might have been the same age - as you like to say 'geddit'??????

And no it's not presumptious claptrap keyplayer - it's written from a viewpoint of a mother who has also done more than her fair share of voluntary work with under privilleged and ill cared for kids. Also from the view point of someone who has seen kids as young as 11 asking for a morning after pill or contraceptive advice - kids who have absolutely no input from parents on anything at all (except for the doling out of money for fags and booze) in their lives

It really makes me wonder how much of that side of the coin that some of you have ever seen.

Which earlier posts were bigoted or ill considered ?

Quite a few.

You are entitled to your opinion,

Thank you.

..........but why condone smoking, drinking and sex, by chidren?

By identifying posts as being bigoted and ill considered is not condoning anything.

All three acts are illegal,

As are many others frequently committed by adults

..........but more importantly they are detrimental to this childs health and wellbeing.

As are many others frequently committed by adults

Regardless of what happens in other cultures, this cannot be classed as the norm in the UK.

However, the generating of bigoted and ill considered posts seems to be only too normal.

The whole lot of this comment is rubbish, clearly the work of an imbecile.

Brightness.
Thank you for your commonsense words, unfortunately, as long as we have idiots like the above (who cannot substanstiate their comments) things willl not change.

Don't be ridiculous.

When I was 15 at school I certainly knew who the 11 year olds that had just come up from the junior school were. Kids can judge kids ages.

Most 15 year olds wouldn't even have sex with kids their own age never mind an eleven year old.

Do you have ANY morals?

LMAO Joe, I'm not the one being ridiculous here. This does seem to be following an 'i'm Joe, therefore i'm right' sort of pattern though...

OK so maybe you did. Not all kids are the same & in some towns there are more than one school - my relatively small town has two large high schools.

There are plenty that would too - and I know more than enough of them. How many 15 year olds do you actually know Joe? I know plenty and can assure you that there are loads that would and do!

joe

I have plenty thank you. However, I live in the real world and know plenty of kids who can't talk to their parents or any other adults that they have a good relationship.

I think it's quite funny actually, you questioning my morals! You are the one who seems to have a fetish about any man and any woman left alone for more than 20 seconds and thinks that any male in the medical profession ios a wannabe rapist or paedophile!

You better hold on to your hat now Brightness.
Ooh, telling Joe off

   Do you really think I care?

Joe is a jumped up know it all, whom, in reality, probably knows very little indeed. Oh no, I am wrong and stand corrected. He seems to know a bit about Australian laws. However antiquated they may be ;)

careful Brightness, dont get your frilly bloomers in twist.. LMAO

The adjective I actually used was presumptive - slightly different. However you seem to presume that the mother to be is unhappy about giving birth and raising a child. And that she'll be a single parent. And that she must be scared witless. And that her perceived ignorance is a result of embarrassment. We must have read different articles, I read the link at the top of the thread.
