Maybe I am old fashioned but I was 22 and married when I had my first son - I was old by some standards in the military hospital he was born in too!
We have never expected anyone else except us to keep our kids either - that's the difference here.
The poor girl's own mother has umpteen other kids and she is a single mum - more than likely living off the state and ignoring 90& of them.
I say poor girl because how can a CHILD of 11 really be happy being pregnant & about to bring another life into the world? I'll bet she's scared out of her wits. All kids need role models and it would appear that this girl didn't have a very good one if any at all. How can the woman who gave birth to her claim to be her 'mother'?
Mothers are supposed to nurture, take care of & set examples to their children. Where is this womans proof of that?
As for prosecuting the 15yr old boy, what's the point? Any young lad given the chance would get his end away & he might have thought he to be older than 11. Surely this is one prime example that sex education and the provision of contraception in the UK today is just not good enough.
I've seen this with my own eyes - young girls asking for the morning after pill or contraceptive advice after the 'deed' has taken place.
Surely we should take away their embarrassment and risks of unwanted pregnancy, STD's, abortions and the like and not having a public outcry after the events?????
