but moz, that isnt true....about being removed...anyone can look back and there are threads that looked as if it would come to blows if it were real....and tg its not...but nothing was removed then....there wasnt any intervention amongst some of the more severe banter. i wasnt offended all the time..once i got use to it...but the mods i think were in a meeting maybe and this is a result....it happens. i wont be goin anywhere else....unless they just kick me out. that could happen

Agreed BAS, if posts are deleted/edited like yesterday then there will be need for another approach, maybe an adult general chat forum. As far as credit card details, reckon it would put many people off and could just become a clique...great thing about this site has been that new people come to add to the banter.

I can appreciate the admin may not wish to become embroiled in a discussion nor appreciate questioning and are maybe between a rock and a hard place sometimes, but just for them to act a bit more consistently is all that's needed.

As ML says sometimes posts have been pretty strong and nothing done about them, then a complete overreaction deleting with a vengeance...what gives?

Oh indeed - it's long been obvious that the values of this board do not extend to stopping people posting race/religious hatred. or advocating/glorifying violence, but a couple of slightly adult (but non-pornographic) photos, and a discussion about the size of toffee's bum, and all hell breaks loose..

Different standards of what's OK. Slogger can advocate torture, arson & murder, but a photo of a woman in her undies has to be expunged.

The thing is that it's handy to have this forum on the same site as the DIY ones...

I too am amazed at some of what has been edited.
Maybe more has been added after I went to bed ... but if not, then some stuff does seem pretty tame in comparison to some stuff I have read on here that has been offensive.
Some of my stuff has been deleted I think.. hard to keep track... and I apologise now if I have offended anyone but I thought I was pretty inoffensive really.

Was just questioning the standards as you point out BAS and as you rightly say, in my opinion also, they're sometimes a bit unbalanced.
Having said that, to monitor and regulate the quantity of posts effectively and efficiently being fair to all parties would be a full time job for many people and I do respect the work the mods do here.....a thankless task that's going to upset someone inevitabley. Just of late it appears things have changed so was asking why, that's all.

I agree it is handy with the DIY site which many use too and also sees a lot of traffic as a result.

Moz.....was tongue in cheek about deserting en mass...I know it ain't a goer. Have been on other sites and they each have their downsides. Really.......appreciate what is done here, most of the time its a good craic.
