There are about 60 million people in the UK and a prison population of 85000.
There are about 1 million immigrants in the uk - yet 11000 of the prison population of 85000 are immigrants.
Does that mean we are allowing criminals in? Or do they become criminals when they get here?
What's going on? Is the UK stuffed?

You quote 11,000 of prison immigrants, 85,000, so that doesn't make sense really does it?
There is this fine line that people don't seem to understand, an ILLEGAL immigrant, and a LEGAL immigrant.
If someone in France was persecuted for war crimes in France, then they have the legal right to claim to be a legal immigrant, in this country.
If someone travelled all the way across Europe, and then claimed asylum in the UK, then that is illegal, as you must declare yourself in the nearest country to your own.
So by entering the UK, from a non EU country as France, is breaking the rules, so immediately entering jail. But no that isn't the case, they have to report to a detention centre, where most don't, so are lost in the system.
