Project 2025: making the lives of ordinary American citizens worse off
Project 2025: making the millionaires and billionaires even more wealthy

Yeah Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

apart from the 16 people from the Heritage Foundation that wrote Project 2025 he’s put in his administration

Project 2025 is now in full swing:

In his first few days back in office, President Donald Trump engaged in a whirlwind of executive actions, from exiting the World Health Organization, to deploying military personnel and National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Many of these actions are unprecedented. Some appear to be illegal and unconstitutional, according to legal experts and judges. But none of them should come as a surprise – nearly all of them were outlined in 2022 in a plan called Project 2025.

It is fascinating.

Vance seemed to be saying yesterday that as long as a President believes he has the power to do something, then a court shouldn't be able to challenge him. Sounds like our first King Charles.

I have just been reading a bit about Project 2025. Apparently, the main aim is to create in effect a one party right wing state. Massive new powers will be given to the President so that he can override Congress. Twenty thousand party members will be appointed to all the senior positions in the federal bureaucracy. And these twenty thousand loyalists will be trained in a special right wing academy. Finally, there will be a competition open to party loyalists to design a party uniform.

*The last one is a joke.

Who knows where it might lead. Normally the Supreme Court would try to stop this sort of thing. But that's already been taken care of.
Once you remove the legal protections, a lot of things can happen.

There are previous examples of this around the world.

USA voted for this. But is it what they thought they voted for ?

The biggest issue for me, is that we (UK) are nothing without the USA, and are going to have to fall in line with whatever happens. We made our choice. We are the 51st state in everything but law

I recall, in the 70's I think, one of the union leaders, might have been Arthur Scargill or Red Robbo, was suggesting Eton College should be nationalised and used as a training school for shop stewards.

shop stewards are on the side of the people

Trumps impending dictatorship is on the side of billionaires.

We warned you about Project 2025……but you kept drinking the Kool aid.

The 900-page Mandate for Leadership was seen by many as a Christian nationalist roadmap for the 47th president of the United States of America.

While Trump distanced himself from it on the campaign trail, Alex Hannaford reports on how his executive orders are following it to the letter…

And now, less than a month into his time at the White House, Trump has signed dozens of executive orders that mirror the policies and language in the 900-page document.

Nothing would surprise me.

I was surprised. "Project 2025" sounds really anodyne and I have only just looked into it properly. But this is actually really scary stuff. Coupled with what Vance said yesterday about the President ignoring any court rulings if he believes they encroach on his powers.

The Supreme Court reversing Roe vs Wade was a serious warning of what could come.

Reversing Roe versus Wade has taken America back 50 years in women’s freedoms and rights

But this is actually really scary stuff.
It is, I read about it months ago.

The full 900 page doc is on the Heritage foundation site to download.

It would take America back to Victorian Britain

I’m not pro-Trump. He scares me. There are days when I wake up and think: If this goes on like this for four years, or even four months, we’re going to be living in an unrecognizable republic — one in which lickspittle Republican legislators and cabinet members rubber stamp every crazy Trump idea, federal court decisions are simply ignored by the executive branch, Elon Musk creates a Department of Personal Efficiency (DOPE) that tracks and scores your every move, and a booming economy keeps a majority of voters indifferent to the collapse of civic and constitutional norms. We saw that model play out in the early years of Vladimir Putin’s dictatorship in Russia and Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s rule in Turkey.
